Taste the Waste reist over de wereld om te zien hoe voedselverspilling plaats vindt, maar ook wat we er aan kunnen doen. Waarom overladen supermarkten hun schappen met een variëteit van hetzelfde product? Waarom wordt sushi als varkensvoer gebruikt? Hoeveel draagt voedsel-verspilling bij aan wereldhonger? Maar we zien ook hoe we verspilling kunnen reduceren zonder verlies van de huidige standaard van leven. ‘Taste the Waste’ laat zien dat het ook anders kan.

Skipping Waste" is a documentary about dumpster diving created in 2009 by Lily Barlow. Monopolizing chain supermarkets dominate food sales. Bananas from Colombia and avocados from Brazil are filling baskets throughout European winters. These unsustainable consumer habits lead to a well of waste, burning oil and overflowing landfills. Desperately seeking an alternative, dumpster divers are taking to the streets, feeding hundreds with the found food. "Skipping Waste" follows these communities through France and the Netherlands as they recoup and reuse what capitalist society has deemed as 'trash'.
